Regulation governs the deposit system

We are responsible for Sweden's largest deposit system of cans and PET bottles for ready-to-drink beverages. It is our job to make the recycling system work at all levels; spread information about the recycling system, manage payments and coordinate the collection of empty packages.

The Swedish Parliament has decided on the regulation that governs our activities.

Optional connection to the deposit system

Since 2023 all fruit syrup (saft) and juice products are regulated by the ordinance 2022:1274. Dairy products in metal cans can be optionally connected.

Recycling targets

Our goal is set by the Swedish Parliament and Government. We work to reach 90 percent recycling of cans and PET bottles. The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency is the responsible supervisory authority for Returpack.
